19-year-old Tate Frantz was first named to the U.S. Men’s Junior National Team in 2020. In addition to attending the Northwood School, Frantz trains at the NTG in Lillehammer, Norway.

His sports idols are Henry Johnstone and Sam Arquit because they have both helped push him to keep going in times of doubt. He has too many superstitions to count and enjoys running and mountain biking outside of Nordic skiing.

Former Nordic Combined athlete that switched to Ski Jumping during the 2022/2023 season. Named to the 2023 U.S. World Championship Team, competing in Planica, Slovenia. Earned his first-ever World Cup points in Ruka, Finland, finishing 30th overall during the HS142 World Cup on November 26th, 2023.

Highest individual World Cup finish came in Wilsa, where he placed 18th HS140 World Cup on 1/14/2024. Named to the 2024 Ski Flying World Championships team, placing 20th overall in the Individual HS235, carding the first top 20 finish by an American at Ski Flying World Championships since Tad Langlois in 1994.
