It’s hard to believe that it’s 71 years since I jumped at Soldiers Field scaffold, waving in the Chicago wind on crushed ice!
My son-in-law, Tim Cofer (CEO of KDP Dr Pepper), is acquainted with Chicago Bears manager and mentioned to him at a recent Bears game that his father-in-law had jumped at Soldiers Field in 1954.
That Bears manager went into the archives and found these photos of that event and here they are as a plaque given to me (Dale), this Christmas 2025!
Another noteworthy event that just happened to me in the December issue of “Our Wisconsin” magazine with my life story of growing up in Wisconsin and ski jumping from age 5, to age 79.
