USA Nordic, the national leadership organization for Olympic ski jumping and nordic combined, will play host to an International Ski Federation Nordic Combined Continental Cup event Dec. 11-13 which will be live streamed globally. Athletes from seven nations will take part in the first Winter Olympic level event under COVID-19 protocol in Utah with no spectators permitted.
A global audience will be able to watch the event live with streaming on USANordic.org and Facebook Live. The live stream will be produced by USA Nordic with grant support from Utah Office of Tourism and the Summit County Restaurant Tax, as well as its partners Palantir and Backcountry. It will feature live commentary during the official competition rounds.
The ski jumping portion of nordic combined will take place on the Olympic jump at the Utah Olympic Park in Park City, with cross country skiing at the Olympic venue at Soldier Hollow in Midway.
The event will be conducted under a strict COVID-19 protocol, which requires both advance and arrival testing of athletes, as well as controlled lodging and activities for athletes and coaches. Only accredited athletes, coaches and officials will be permitted at the competition venues.
“The Continental Cup provides our USA Nordic athletes with vital competitions at home, plus it allows us to showcase our Olympic venues to a worldwide audience,” said Olympic champion and USA Nordic Executive Director Billy Demong. “We’re especially appreciative for the opportunity to partner with the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation and Utah Sports Commission to continue the long tradition of this mid-December international event in Utah.”
The weekend schedule will include individual start events on Friday and Sunday, with a unique mass start competition on Saturday.
Nine USA Nordic athletes from four states and four separate club programs will compete.
USA Nordic and the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation have worked closely with public health authorities in both Summit and Wasatch counties. USA Nordic’s medical team will oversee the protocol designed to protect the well being of athletes, coaches and the host venue communities.

TK, nice to have COC’s again in PC / SoHo. These events are vital for the development of athletes. Just so you know, Erik Lynch (Steamboat Springs) qualified to compete, so he is on the roster and will start on day 1. We’ll sub out some guys each day to give the alternates a chance to compete. It has been a long road back for Erik but he is getting there!
Erik Lynch is my hero. He is already the biggest winner after all he has been going through. He is a miracle worker
