(October 1, 2025) — After more than a decade on the international stage, two-time Olympian Casey Larson has announced his retirement from competitive ski jumping.
Larson represented the United States at the 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympic Games, as well as years on the World Cup Circuits and numerous World Championships teams. Over the course of his career, he became a four-time U.S. National Champion, earned multiple additional podium finishes, and recorded a personal best of 216.5 meters, one of the farthest jumps ever by an American athlete. His trademark mustache made him instantly recognizable, while his talent kept him among the nation’s best.
“Being an athlete representing USA Ski Jumping, and looking back on everything we achieved, makes me extremely proud,” said Larson. “However, it is time for me to take a step back from competing and hang up the skis.”
Reflecting on his career, Larson shared appreciation for everyone who contributed to his journey, “I am retiring with nothing but love for my teammates, coaches, and staff who have made everything possible from day one.”
While closing this chapter, Larson remains committed to the ski jumping community and looks forward to contributing to the sport beyond his time on the hill.
