Park City, UT – USA Nordic has hired Riley Elliott as its new Communications Manager, a newly developed position by the organization. A Utah local, Elliott graduated from the University of Utah, majoring in strategic communications and minoring in outdoor recreation studies. Prior to his hiring with USA Nordic, Elliott’s background includes experience in collegiate sports and in the ski resort industry.
During his time at the University of Utah, Elliott was an Athletics Communications Intern for Utah Athletics during all four years of his undergrad. As an intern, he managed all forms of communications for the men’s and women’s tennis team at the University of Utah, including website content, social media management, press relations, and athlete management. Elliott also assisted in program writing, statistics distribution and press relations for all major sports at the University of Utah, gaining well rounded skills in communications and public relations.
After graduating from the University of Utah, Elliott gained more experience in communications with Snowbasin Ski Resort as a Communications Associate for the 2020-21 season. During his time at Snowbasin, he helped assist in early morning communications for the resort, writing the daily snow report, managing blog postings, and posting appropriate social media content. When this position became available with USA Nordic, Elliott believed that it was the perfect opportunity to utilize his prior experience in communications and translate it to the organization.
“I am incredibly thankful for this opportunity I have obtained from USA Nordic to be the Communications Manager for the organization. I’m very excited to bring my skills to the table that I learned from my time at the University of Utah and Snowbasin to help positively impact USA Nordic,” says Elliott. “I have had a very warm welcome from the athletes, coaches and members of the organization, and can’t wait to continue to work with them. Not only am I excited for the growth that I am expecting from myself with this new position, but for the growth of USA Nordic as a whole. I have come in at a very exciting time and I cannot wait for what the future holds, there are a lot of big things coming.”
Elliott’s role with USA Nordic will continue taking the organization to the next level, as he has many goals and high aspirations for his new role. Elliott would like to see a great increase in press engagement and social media following on all of USA Nordic’s platforms, in hopes to provide more exposure both nationally and globally for the organization and its athletes. He is also excited to work in tandem with Partnership Marketing Director Casey Mills in order to help promote USA Nordic’s great partners, showcasing the great things they do for the organization.
“I am excited to have Riley Elliott joining our team and leading our communications for USA Nordic,” says Executive Director Bill Demong. “He is the consummate professional, and his experience has been incredibly beneficial to our organization so far, leading integrated campaigns, and his work ethic is second to none. I look forward to going through this Olympic season with Riley at the helm, keeping our stakeholders & community informed as well as helping us promote our partners and increase our fan base.”
