PARK CITY, Utah (January 31, 2025) – USA Ski Jumping proudly announces that Jim Holland, a six-time national champion and two-time Olympian, has been inducted into the Vermont Sports Hall of Fame. This honor recognizes Holland’s significant contributions to ski jumping and his enduring impact on the sport.
Hailing from Norwich, Vermont, Holland represented the United States in ski jumping at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France, and the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway. At the 1992 Games, he distinguished himself as the top American finisher in both the large hill and normal hill events. Throughout his career on the FIS World Cup circuit from 1989 to 1993, Holland achieved several top-ten finishes, showcasing his dedication and skill on the international stage.
Following the U.S. Ski Association’s decision to discontinue its ski jumping program in 2007, Holland co-founded USA Ski Jumping to keep the sport alive in the United States. Seventeen years later, the organization continues to lead the way, managing men’s and women’s national ski jumping programs and providing crucial support for athletes across the country.
The induction ceremony is scheduled for April 26, 2025, at the Delta Marriott Burlington Hotel in South Burlington, Vermont. Proceeds from the event will benefit Prevent Child Abuse Vermont, reflecting Holland’s commitment to giving back to the community.
