(Park City, UT) — USA Ski Jumping is excited to announce the addition of two new coaches to its national program. Daniel-André Tande has been named Men’s Continental Cup Coach, while Karl Vegard Andersen joins as Assistant Coach for the Women’s Team.
Tande, a two-time Olympian, brings with him more than a decade of international competition experience. He captured Olympic gold with Norway in the team event at PyeongChang 2018, a Ski Flying World Championship gold medal the same year, and earned six World Cup victories and 12 podium finishes. Tande was also a leader among the athletes during the early years of the Norwegian–USA Ski Jumping partnership, helping build collaboration between the two nations. His move into coaching marks a new chapter in his career, one where he will guide the next generation of U.S. athletes at the Continental Cup level.
Andersen brings a wealth of experience to the women’s program after years of involvement in ski jumping, both as a competitor and coach. He previously served as a coach at NTG in Lillehammer, one of Norway’s most respected sports schools, where he worked closely with developing athletes of many levels. He is recognized for his steady presence and technical expertise.
“It’s exciting to work with a team like the USA, an organization clearly dedicated to building athletes who can compete at the highest level,” Andersen said.
“These are two important hires for USA Ski Jumping as we continue to strengthen our program and invest in athlete development,” said Anders Johnson, Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined Sport Director. “Daniel’s championship experience and Karl’s coaching background add tremendous value to our staff, and we are excited to see the impact they will have on our athletes.”
