Hello!
I’m looking forward to rebooting the Membership Committee for USASJ! We will hold our first meeting on September 25, 2025, at 6:30 PM Mountain Time.
Building on Tom’s kind introduction, I have spent over 30 years in magazine journalism, with occasional forays into PR and Marketing. Most recently, I developed and ran a program called Junior Council for The Week Junior magazine—a sort of “devo” for middle-grade journalists. My professional work has consistently involved extensive public speaking, and I have utilized these skills to announce SJ and NC competitions for the past five years. (Also, it turned out the safest place for me was locked in an announcing booth.)
My family and I have learned a lot in the 10 years since our son Seth took his first jump, and we’ve been grateful at every turn for the generosity and expansiveness of this incredible sport and community. I plan to leverage the wisdom of individuals who have experienced multiple iterations of the sport and organization, alongside the insights and perspectives of newcomers to the community, so we can all grow stronger together.
The Membership Committee will meet monthly to hear updates from all divisions, coaches, USASJ staff, and to collaborate on strategies for growth and success.
