(March 9, 2025) – The second week of the 2025 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Trondheim, Norway, saw thrilling action in both individual and team events on the Large Hill (HS138). The U.S. team delivered a strong showing, with multiple athletes advancing through qualification rounds and securing competitive finishes against the world’s best.
Competition began with the Mixed Team Event, where Paige Jones, Kevin Bickner, Annika Belshaw, and Tate Frantz represented the USA. The squad put together an impressive performance, securing a 6th-place finish, marking one of the team’s strongest results in this event.
The U.S. men’s team—Kevin Bickner, Erik Belshaw, Jason Colby, and Tate Frantz—kicked off the competition on Thursday in the HS138 Team Event. The squad put together a solid performance, advancing to the second round and securing an 8th place finish.
Later that day, the women took to the hill for the Large Hill qualification round, with Paige Jones, Annika Belshaw, Josie Johnson, and Sam Macuga ready to fly. Jones, Belshaw, and Johnson successfully qualified for the final round, while Macuga narrowly missed the cut.
In the one-round competition on Friday, due to windy conditions, Paige Jones led the U.S. women, securing a 23rd-place finish as the top American in the event. Annika Belshaw also earned a Top-30 result, finishing 26th, while Josie Johnson rounded out in 35th place.
All four American men—Tate Frantz, Kevin Bickner, Jason Colby, and Erik Belshaw—returned to action on Saturday for Large Hill qualification. With strong jumps, each athlete successfully advanced to the final round, ensuring full U.S. representation in Saturday’s main event.
In the final round, Tate Frantz delivered a standout performance, finishing 14th to secure a Top-15 result. Kevin Bickner followed in 32nd place, while Jason Colby finished 39th, and Erik Belshaw rounded out the American competitors in 41st place.
The team will now have a few days break before heading to the first stop of the Raw Air Tournament in Oslo, Norway this upcoming weekend.
