World Cup
The Stifel U.S. Ski Jumping Team delivered standout performances last weekend across both women’s and men’s World Cup competitions, marking a historic milestone for the program.
On the women’s side, the team competed in Ljubno, Slovenia on the HS94, continuing a breakthrough season on the World Cup stage. Saturday kicked things off with Paige Jones recording a career-best 14th-place finish, while Annika Belshaw added momentum by scoring points in 20th.
Sunday brought even bigger results. Despite challenging and windy conditions, Belshaw delivered a historic performance, finishing 7th—her best career result and the first top-10 World Cup finish for U.S. women’s ski jumping since 2017.
Meanwhile, the men’s team competed in Zakopane, Poland on the HS140, with both Kevin Bickner and Jason Colby qualifying for competition. Bickner capped off a strong weekend with a 10th-place finish, marking the second top-10 World Cup result of his career. Colby faced an unlucky first round after being struck by a snowblower on the inrun. He was granted a re-jump but ultimately finished the day in 37th place.
Belshaw’s seventh-place finish and Bickner’s 10th place result marked the first time in U.S. Ski Jumping history that athletes from both the women’s and men’s teams have recorded top-10 World Cup finishes in the same weekend.
This upcoming weekend the women’s team is in Zhangjiakou, China and set to compete on the HS140.
The men, also in Asia, are in Sapporo, Japan on the HS137.
